It's only a ten-minute drive to some of the biggest and cleanest waves in Spain. The coastline around Conil is the best wave surfing spot on the Costa de la Luz.

Tarifa is where to go for wind and kite surfing. Not many foreigners know how good Conil's beaches are. This is a good thing, because it means less crowding.

This coastline is incredibly diverse; you get all kinds of waves here. You will find everything from strong beach breaks to smooth point and reef breaks.

Normally in this part of Spain we get ground swell, and it can be incredibly powerful, so take care! These swells come quickly; waves can build up to 4 feet plus within just a few hours. They can last for weeks at a time.


During the week these beaches are almost empty. It's only at the weekends, that it can get slightly crowded. Most of the weekend surfers come from Seville, Cadiz and Malaga.

The coastline is rugged, with numerous turns and twists; most of the time you'll be able to find a clean wave. The best thing about surfing here is the reliability.
