Every summer, from mid-July to the end of September, the tourist board organise a series of rural cycling tours.
They pass through all the natural spaces that lie within the municipal boundaries of Conil. This takes advantage of the town’s natural resources (which often go unnoticed) and provides an alternative to the usual “sun and beach” holiday.
Tickets are available from the Municipal Tourist office on Calle Carreterra and cost about 5 euros. The tours are open to everyone, and every one is welcome. It’s quite popular, even with the locals who have been living there all their lives.
The route takes you through some stunning countryside, with breathtaking colours. It lasts about three hours and explanations are given (in various languages) during the brief stops along the way.
The tours start on Avenida del Rio, which is beside the headquarters of the Delegacion de Juventud of the Municipal Council. It starts at 10 in the morning, every Thursday. If you’re interested in taking part, you should buy your ticket from Tourist Office, early in the week. There is a maximum limit of 12 people per tour, and places fill up quickly.
