During your holiday in Conil de la Frontera you will have the opportunity to choose from dozens of activities that will allow you to get to know the town, its surrounding environment and everything that there is to see in this beautiful 'Gaditano' settlement. On this page we intend to propose various gratifying activities that you quite simply HAVE to try out, allowing you to create everlasting memories of your time in Conil. In and around Conil de la Frontera, there are an incredible amount of activities on offer, so you'll never be left with nothing to do!
The first thing we advise you to do upon arriving in Conil de la Frontera, is visit the town centre, because there is much more to Conil than the stunning beaches and coves. There is much to see in the historic centre of the town, a great place to enjoy a stroll, taking in all the emblematic historic monuments, ending up at the fantastic museum of Conil and Conileñas (inhabitants of Conil).
Without leaving the province, we recommend a daytrip to Tarifa, which is located a short drive away. Here it is possible to sail out to sea with scientists to discover new species in the Gibraltar Strait, or to see the whales.....a magical experience for anyone.
Another short drive away from Conil is the Centre of the 'Almadraba', an age-old tuna-catching technique, unique to the area. Whilst here you can learn about the history of the 'Almadraba', as well as take a boat trip along some of the tuna-catching routes...the almadraba is something you will never forget.
Another event unique to the area is the Beach horse-racing in Sanlucar de Barrameda, where each August the horses take to the sand on Beach La Calzada, along with hundreds of spectators who come to witness this surreal event.
There are also plenty of activities on offer for the children, whether it be the attractions at the waterpark 'Aqualand' , or a stroll through Jerez's Botanical Zoo, or even visiting the Crocodile farm also present in Jerez.
All this and incredible food and beautiful countryside will ensure you'll never forget your visit to Conil de la Frontera. |
